We are all about improving your travel photography experience. We are photographers involved in stock and professional photography, but we also have a passion for travel. This site was born out of a fusion of our photogaphy and travel passions.

Concept Statement

The digital photography industry is exploding. High-end digital cameras are affordable, easy to operate and commonplace. Previously when someone went on a vacation or even a weekend drive they might have taken maybe a handfull of film shots. Now they take hundreds sometimes thousands of shots and everyone is doing it. By most estimates, photography is now the number one hobby in the US and probably the world.

So how do you make the experience as rewarding as possible? It is tough to get really great shots. We all know the scenario.

We plan a great trip, lots of scenic sites to visit and photograph. When we get back and download the pictures, the disappointment sets in, only a hand full of pictures were even marginally acceptable. We either did not get the best shot, did not get to the right location, the lighting was wrong, we got there too late, too early, etc. How do you get those postcard quality shots that make the trip truly memorable and something you want to eagerly share with your friends and family. In photography, it is all about prep. You need to know where to go, what time to get there and what is the basic equipment you need to get the shot. In short, you need to plan your trip to maximize the probability that you will get the best shots. Unless you can afford a guide, you really are left to trial and error with usually less than desirable results.

That is where this site comes in. What if there was this great site where anyone who likes self directed photography travel can upload their pictures, itinerary, create blogs, and basically post anything that helps paint this great picture of their photo trek and then they were willing to share that with the world. You see, the odds are that someone will have done it (or something very similar) before, maybe even several people and they will have discovered many of those great sites you might never stumble across. So now you as the photo traveler, can pictorially research this unique area you want to visit, get great recommendations from people who have been there before, take the best of what you find and create this truly fantastic photo trip itinerary that is sure to put you in just the right spot for that unforgettable photo, and do it not just once but over and over throughout your adventure. Sure, this does not guarantee that you will get all great shots, but it does increase the odds that more of those shots will be winners. This site is all about making that photo trek as rewarding as possible.
