Re:Equipment of Choice? - 2007/06/22 17:07 I shoot mostly with a Canon 5D. I also usually carry a Point and Shoot (currently the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS).

I like the Digital SLRs because of the different lens choices. I do some commercial photography and also shoot for stock agencies, so I need a decently high end camera. My favorite lens is the Canon EF 24-105 f/4L IS.

Re:Equipment of Choice? - 2007/06/22 17:19 Would you recommend the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS?

Re:Camera of choice? - 2007/06/22 17:23 I use the Canon EOS 20D. I really like the lens choice available from the Canon line. I am pretty happy with the camera.

I have also seen a lot of great shots from the Nikon product line. I would like to test drive one of those sometime.

Yes! The SD800 IS shoots at 7.1 Meg and has image stabilization. It is super compact, so it can easily fit in your pocket.

I have gotten some great shots with it that have even been accepted at stock agencies.

Re:Camera of choice? - 2007/06/22 20:37 The great lens choices for the Canon line was the difference maker for me. The 20D is a great camera. You can do sports, portrait, even shoot for agencies with it.
